RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE
One thing that hurts just as much as the gut-wrenching, head spinning agony of watching the light of your loved one fade away, is the bondage of addiction whose grip is so tight that it takes the place of all that was once near and dear to your heart. Addiction is a family disease, and it is the strength and resiliency of the family that will restore lives back to balance. Someone once said that we have to stop expecting and start accepting. As we begin to accept that there is a problem in our lives and open ourselves up to finding the solution within, the journey to wellness will begin. One step at a time, we can learn to let go of the things that are out side of our control, and allow the path to unfold. We start to take back responsibility and ownership of our lives. Suddenly we realize we are not alone. There is support and care for us all around. Hope truly exists and recovery becomes a possibility. The light begins to glimmer and we know that we are moving in the right direction. As the balance is restored we must remember to give thanks and gratitude to those who walked by our side and showed us the way back home to ourselves by paying it forward. Prevention works, treatment is effective, recovery is possible.
